Join us in solidarity and find your role in the work against hate and violence that poisons our hearts and holds us back from real growth.

Your generosity will keep our doors open as we foster an end to personal, racial, and systemic conflict.

We humbly ask for your support.

Founded in 1989, the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center (APADRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Los Angeles, CA that has worked to improve race and human relations by resolving local and national conflict in diverse and historically underrepresented communities. For the past 32 years, the APADRC has been a mainstay in the Los Angeles conflict management and peacebuilding community – an achievement made possible only with the help of generous donations and sponsorships. Now, we once again kindly ask for your support to remain in the community.

This past year has seen an unprecedented amount of conflict come to a head in our communities. From the national Black Lives Matter (BLM) response fueled by the death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many other named and unnamed souls, to the Capitol Insurrection on January 6, 2021, to the rise of anti-Asian hate perpetrated through physical acts of violence as well as COVID-19 misinformation, we continue to hear one call of distress after another.

The theme of this year has been crisis. But this year has also been defined by togetherness, strength, and innovation. Against the backdrop of an ongoing international health crisis, we’ve had to cope with the meaning of survival. Confronted by adversities such as an economic recession with serious housing and food insecurity implications, ramifications from racial inequities illustrated by disproportionate vaccine distribution systems, and the interruption of early childhood and youth development due to remote learning, our lives have been punctuated by disruption. Yet, social distancing from home, extended families have found new openings to engage virtually with one another, businesses have adapted to creative work solutions, and above all else, we’ve found the strength to continue to plan for a better tomorrow.

Facing these headwinds, the APADRC responded. Our sense of normalcy disrupted, we challenged the status quo. Instead of accepting that living meant surviving, we redefined it to mean thriving. Together, we raised our voices at BLM demonstrations across the nation; we stood at Rise Up Against Asian Hate rallies; we increased community connectivity at weekly facilitated dialogues; and we held workplace trainings to advance cultural awareness into acceptance. Together, we decided to hold ourselves to a higher level of accountability – understanding that good intentions are nothing if they are not backed by good outcomes. Now, we humbly ask that you answer our call.

We ask that you invest in our efforts to put humanity first. If nothing else, this year has taught us that while we may not always agree, our principles cannot come at the cost of our compassion. Please stand with us for a more peaceful tomorrow by being present at an APADRC event; by wearing one of our APADRC T-shirts; by sending us a donation; or, by becoming a sponsor. Thank you for your support.

With gratitude,
The APADRC Family
